This is a really fun specimen from a rarely seen locality. Cabinet in size it is a quite sculptural aggregate of angular and bladed casts, or epimorphs, of Quartz after scalenohedral Calcite crystals. This is further enhanced by the addition of numerous glossy dark brown to black Sphalerite crystals scattered upon the contrasting creamy-white upper surface of the specimen. Underneath, the specimen has great appeal too, with the epimorphic casts of Calcite crystals being extremely well-defined. A super epimorph from Sardinia.
