Twinned Fluorite

1
This yellow-and-blue zoned fluorite, discovered in Germany in the 1890s, is a true European classic! Its intergrown twin structure, naturally aligned and geometrically precise, speaks to me in a harmonious way. Bands of honeyed gold transitioning to a steel blue, creating a visual rhythm that's not only rare but very pleasing - the closest resemblance being french fluorite from Valergues. Over a century since its unearthing, the crystal retains its integrity, offering a glimpse into a time when mineral collecting was still a pursuit of scholars and connoisseurs.
