Here is an incredible cluster of stacked, pseudocubic, native Antimony crystals from the Lake George Antimony Mine in Canada, that has produced excellent crystals for the species, as in this piece! Native Antimony crystals are exceedingly rare and this piece is very impressive with at least eight crystals from 4 to 8 mm on edge. The metallic, silver-white, relatively well-formed, scalenohedral crystals exhibit a dull luster except on the periphery of the piece where there is some slight contacting and the luster is bright silvery metallic. The handsome crystals sit on whitish drusy Calcite crystals for great contrast and they display exceptionally well. This is a significant locality specimen from the early days of an important antimony mine started in the mid 1800s. This one single pocket is regarded by many collectors to have produced the finest native antimony crystals for sheep and aesthetics, ever. Antimony rarely crystallize, and usually just as a crust or coating. These cubic crystals remain legendary and almost impossible to obtain. We have only had a few, in 4 decades of dealing. If memory serves, they were found in the late 80s or early 90s. The piece came out of a private and significant rarities collection (anonymous for now, but will be given to buyer).
