This is an excellent and VERY scarce cabinet piece of the super-rare and chemically complex mercury-copper-cesium-arsenic sulfide Galkhaite. This is probably one of the richest Galkhaite pieces we've seen as there are are at least four dozen, mostly isolated gray-red Galkhaite cubes averaging 2.5 mm scattered all over this piece! They are razor sharp, too! They are red, but dark red due to natural oxidation on surface (which can be cleaned if desired, chemically, I suspect). This large, roughly triangular piece is unusually pretty for the mine and material: covered in 1 to 3 mm fine drusy Quartz botroids that are a pale gray color imparted by the dark gray matrix underneath. It's very rich and very good for the species! With direct and indirect lighting the translucent crystals exhibit dark blood-red internal reflections! This great piece for the species hails from the Getchell Mine in Nevada from small, but incredibly significant finds of the late 1990s which were brought to market by Scott Kleine, who sold this to the Raul Madrid collection.
