Magnetite
Spread across the front side of this specimen are dozens of beautifully-formed octahedrons of Magnetite that are accented with sharp rhombohedral modifications, giving the edges a nicely beveled appearance. The rich, metallic grey crystals measure up to 3.8 centimeters across and are interspersed in a highly contrasting, milky-white Quartz, which has an almost sugary texture. Much of the Quartz has been removed via acid etching to better reveal most of the Magnetite crystals, which is a common practice amongst similar specimens from the region. Many of the Magnetite have a fairly rugged surface texture that enhances the crystals' bright metallic luster. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
