Several countries in South America are home to any number of substantial Amethyst specimens, some of the most well-known coming from Brazil and Uruguay. This Amethyst specimen, however, comes from a relatively uncommon Bolivian locality and showcases all the splendid color and abundance that put South American Amethysts on the map. Rising above a foundation of colorless, translucent, amorphous Quartz are several massive Amethyst crystals that are complete all around with near-perfect terminations and a vitreous luster. The largest Amethyst gently diverges from the other crystals, standing out as one of the primary focal points of the piece. Every crystal distinctly grades from a translucent white lower-half to a glassy purple and lavender termination; while the color is impressive enough on its own, backlighting the specimen makes the deeply saturated terminations far more radiant. This specimen has a flat underside that allows it to stand freely.
