A very unusual but exceptional specimen from the 17th Extension of the Boron Open Pit that features incredibly sharp, transparent Colemanite spears rising above a thick layer of rare spherical Calcite aggregates. Most of the Colemanite, reaching up to 2.3 centimeters, are grouped together in a radiating floral cluster near the top of the specimen and a tightly packed "terrace" at the foot of the specimen. The Calcite in this specimen serves as a perfectly contrasting backdrop, saturated with an orange hue that is far deeper than many other specimens from this locality. Under shortwave UV light, the Colemanite fluoresces a pale blue. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
