Zeolitic minerals like Mesolite are a continuous reminder of the shapely, beguiling mineral arrangements that often bring the phrase "I can't believe that's natural!" This piece is a stunning and very aesthetic example, featuring a sizable puffball of beautifully-terminated, transparent, white Mesolite crystals at the top of a thick Stilbite matrix. The primary Mesolite cluster reaches an impressive size of 11.7 x 10.2 centimeters, interwoven with two smaller cluster on the rear side and has a subtle twinkling effect from the glassy terminations. A few small cores and remnants of previous Mesolite clusters on the Stilbite, which is not uncommon for these specimens. The Stilbite is a nice complement to the Mesolite, having a gently contrasting light tannish-pink color and a flashy luster; adding to the appeal, each of the crystals are terminated and grouped in tightly-packed, even bowtie-shaped clusters. A few associations of Fluorapophyllite are isolated across the Stilbite matrix. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
