Dioptase from Tsumeb mine is generally regarded as the world's best: not so much on size - although crystals are large - but because of their exceptionally bright glassy lustre, and their combinations with contrasting pale coloured Calcite. This lovely miniature specimen shows this perfectly, with supremely glossy intense emerald-green Dioptase crystals to over 1 cm in length sat gracefully upon a pale cream coloured Calcite base. The Dioptase crystals are extremely well-formed with only very minor edge-wear apart from a fractured crystal on one edge. This might be a miniature, but it is really pretty and a cute Tsumeb Dioptase.
