Tucson, Arizona, USAThis super small cabinet specimen from the famous copper mining area of Bisbee, Arizona, USA has amazing character and wouldn't look out of place in some modern art installations. Comprising carbonates of copper - Azurite and Malachite - the colour contrast between the two, and the very varied textural form that each takes makes for a fascinating display. Forming a relatively thin plate, a layer of darker green crystallized Malachite interspersed with lenses of blue Azurite forms the back, upon which unusual coalesced stalactites of matt pale green Malachite have formed, partially coated in sparkling brighter blue microcrystals of Azurite.
