This quite rich Bournonite in Quartz is from the famous Herodsfoot mine near Liskeard in Cornwall, England. Miniature in size it is actually a very richly crystallized Bournonite with a particularly fine cluster of aggregated 'cog-wheel' crystals protruding from one side of the sugary Quartz. This crystal aggregate has a great old-time patina and shows only slight bruising. There are many other very good smaller bladed Bournonite crystals exposed on the outside of this specimen too, as well as others which are damaged, and it is these that have reduced the price on this piece. Otherwise , it would be considerably more expensive. Ex Malcolm Southwood collection, no. MS 2000.077 with other old labels, some incorrectly assigning this piece to the earlier Cornish locality at Wheal Boys.
