Siderite
Brown coloured coarse lenticular Siderite crystals to 1.5 cm across coat a thin vein of Quartz on a thin piece of rock matrix from the famous Virtuous Lady mine near Tavistock in Devon. This is classic material from this ever so popular mine for collectors. The Siderite crystals form intergrown, slightly rosetted aggregates and although several of the crystals are cleaved on their edges, this is not instantly apparent when on display. Large miniature in size, the scale of the Siderite crystals means that it displays very nicely. Ex Malcolm Southwood collection, no. MS 2011.249.
