Kåbuland 01 Feldspar quarry is a famous large quarry (sometimes called Amerika mine) in Iveland, Agder, Norway containing a pegmatite dyke rich in Aeschynite-(Y), Allanite-(Ce) and Thortveitite. This miniature specimen is very rich in Aeschynite-(Y), as glossy black blades to 1.9 cm in length cutting through paler Feldspar and glossy dark brown sheets of 'Biotite' mica, and smaller Aeschynite-(Y) crystals with fairly well-defined external crystal faces. It is from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021).
