Gem, almost electric blue Azurite crystal with a sidecar on matrix from Toussit-Bou Beker, Morocco. The single, 2 cm, essentially gem, royal blue, perfectly terminated Azurite sits eloquently upright on a small piece of matrix that hosts another, 1.6 cm crystal that is partially altered to Malachite in places and is unterminated as it grows into the flesh colored Dolomite matrix that is also accentuated by bright green Malachite. A gorgeous thumbnail!Featured in the book Collecting Pseudomorphs: The Changelings of Mineralogy (Mineralogical Record, January 2025) on p. 68, fig. 14. Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Malachite (SYP25-01a) and Malachite ps. Azurite (SYP25-01b).
