Sturmanite
This is a sharp and distinctive doubly terminated Sturmanite specimen consisting of a single, translucent prominent crystal from the N'Chwaning Mine in South Africa. The crystal displays prominently on an elongate knot of matrix and shows of its wonderful bright green-yellow color and good luster. Sturmanite is a rare calcium-iron sulfate-borate hydrate and the best crystals in the world come from the mines in the Kalahari Manganese Field in South Africa. And a wonderful bright yellow color.Featured in the book Collecting Pseudomorphs: The Changelings of Mineralogy (Mineralogical Record, January 2025) on p. 69, fig. 16. Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Rhodochrosite (SYP25-13a) and Rhodochrosite ps.
