Malachite ps. Azurite
A perfect miniature example of a nearly complete pseudomorph of Malachite after Azurite from the historic Campbell Shaft of the Bisbee copper mine. This spearpoint shaped crystal is an eye-catching green and shows almost perfect preservation of the original Azurite crystal, even the slight divergence of the thin Azurite blades near the top. A superb, elegant example of this old classic. While some were known from the earlier mining era, this is likely from the 1960s.Featured in the book Collecting Pseudomorphs: The Changelings of Mineralogy (Mineralogical Record, January 2025) on p. 68, fig. 14. Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Malachite (SYP25-01a) and Azurite with Malachite (SYP25-01c).
