This is a gorgeous and unusually 3-dimensional spray of primary Malachite from Kerrouchene, Morocco displaying a pronounced and lovely sheen along the length of the crystals. It is hard to describe how beautiful this shimmery, velvety effect is, in person. And, the quality of this piece is absolutely top for such color and luster — it leaps out in person. Two of the component crystals of the group are 3.8 and 3.3 cm, respectively, and the third, and smallest one measures 2 cm in length. All three are a rich bright green with a fibrous texture along their lengths with the play of light along them making them look beautifully chatoyant! Featured in the book Collecting Pseudomorphs: The Changelings of Mineralogy (Mineralogical Record, January 2025) on p. 68, fig. 14. Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Malachite ps. Azurite (SYP25-01b) and Azurite with Malachite (SYP25-01c).
