A nicely composed small cabinet piece from Elmwood dominated by Fluorite cubes on a matrix of Sphalerite. The large, prominent Fluorite at the center of the piece is transparent with a satin luster on the faces and the main display corners are in perfect condition. There are several other Fluorites on either side of the main cub with similar character and vary between 0.5 and 1.0 cm across. All of them sit on a somewhat crystalline matrix of brown-red, translucent Sphalerite for great presentation and classic contrast for the locality! Classic old material from the 1980s-1990s. Featured in the book Collecting Pseudomorphs: The Changelings of Mineralogy (Mineralogical Record, January 2025) on p. 67, fig. 11. Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Fluorite ps. Calcite (SYP25-09b) and Calcite (SYP25-09c).
