Stibnite
Wuning mine (Qingjiang mine) in Jiangxi Province was the second great discovery of Stibnite crystals to be made in the country, made in about 1997. Until then, Japan had held the title of having produced the world's finest crystals of this charismatic species. The exceptional finds at Wuning mine continued for nearly a decade with crystals to a metre in length reported, but invariably never on matrix. This wonderful divergent spray of long (up to 14 cm) bright silvery metallic Stibnite crystals is from this modern classic occurrence at Wuning mine. The Stibnite crystals are, as typical of Wuning mine, extremely bright metallic, and in stunning condition. It is actually two divergent sprays which across through each other. Full details of this amazing occurrence are provided in The Mineralogical Record (Jan-Feb 2007 China II edition). This specimen comes with a custom made acryllic display stand to make sure that it is presented in all of its glory. Ex Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) collection.
