This nicely twinned thumbnail Chrysoberyl has, from the front, the appearance of a small flower. It has quite a rich golden colour for a Chrysoberyl, with gemmy areas, and the main terminated 'branches' or 'petals' are very nicely formed and quite glassy. On the reverse, the twinning is less obvious, obscured by smaller crystals developed upon the surface. It is recorded as from Minas Novas, a town in Minas Gerais, Brazil, renowned as a trading post for gem minerals. A classic Brazilian Chrysoberyl.
