HIDALGOITE with Malachite
Unknown Owner
Hidalgoite, a rare lead aluminium arsenate sulphate hydroxide, is one of the rarer secondary species seen at Tsumeb mine in Namibia. This specimen, despite being a miniature, is quite substantial for Hidalgoite from this famous locality. The Hidalgoite forms tiny glassy pale yellow microcrystals covering an area around 3 x 2.5 cm in extent on what appears to be Calcite with Malachite in association. It comes from an important old European-based systematic collection.
