Green Fluorite is rare in Spain, but Berta quarry and mine near Barcelona is one of the most important sources. This small cabinet-sized specimen not only has an extremely rich green colour, but the crystals are very well-formed too - as octahedra. Often at this locality, the crystals are so heavily crowded on matrix that their form cannot be appreciated, but the crystals on this piece are all very well developed and some even display zoning. Fluorite from Berta quarry and mine is both fluorescent and phosphorescent. Ex Arvid Pasto collection, no. AEP1184, and figured in his book: Collector's Guide to Fluorite in 2009 (Fig. 115, pg. 70). A very lovely green Spanish Fluorite.
