Dyscrasite is a rare silver antimony species named after the Greek for 'bad alloy' because without the presence of antimony it would be pure silver metal. Bouismas mine in Morocco was a relatively short-lived modern silver mine worked from 2008 to 2010. During that time it produced a range of finely crystallized silver-bearing mineral species including exceptional Dyscrasite crystals. This small cabinet specimen is a fantastic example, displaying coral-like branching growths of bladed grey metallic Dyscrasite rising up from a contrasting white massive Calcite matrix from which it has been etched using acid. The Dyscrasite crystals are not only beautifully architectural, but are large and in wonderful condition, with some brighter silver patches possibly being Native Silver that often occurs with it. An extremely choice Dyscrasite for the discerning collector.
