A stunning, COMPLETE rosette of rose quartz from the old 1960s finds at the River Island location. This is a small cabinet sized specimen worthy of the Smale collection because it is both pristine and complete all around, 360 degrees. Such specimens often have a pale pastel pink color but this has a strong, robust, dark color — much better than the usual! These came out in 1959 into the 1960s and still set the standard for rose quartz from Brazil, and generally worldwide. A vibrant pink, specimen of rose quartz from the famed Brazilian locality which produced dramatic rose quartz on quartz specimens in the 1960s (one is now the famous Van Allen Belt in the Smithsonian).
