Tourmaline
Tourmaline from Cruzeiro Mine, Brazil. 21st Century.
Vivid and multicolored, ancient civilizations first believed tourmaline to be made up of several different species because of the kaleidoscopic range of colors that could be seen within a crystal. With over a dozen resplendent crystals, showing cranberry stems, a colorless stripe, and lime-green caps, this specimen makes it easy to understand why. Wonderfully sculpturesque this example tends to mimic modern art.
