Fluorite
This large cabinet Fluorite is from an exceptionally rare locality - Black Ox mine, Masson Hill, Matlock, Derbyshire. It might not be the most visually appealing Fluorite, but has huge cubic crystals to over 5.5 cm on edge, and you might never see another like it for sale. The crystals are pale grey in colour and slightly pearlescent on their surfaces which are composites, made up of many smaller individual cubes aligned and stacked. It comes from the famous Derbyshire collection of mine explorer John A. Jones, who collected it in December 1974. His label accompanies it.
