Hematite crystals from Madagascar are uncommon and usually only seen as thumbnails - at least from this find of 2023. Here is an impressive 5.0 cm large and showy specimen with a mirror bright luster, sharp clean bevelled edges and a chrome metallic silver shine. The crystal faces are superb, showcased by multiple series of triangular striation patterns and minor sub-parallel crystal growth. While the piece is not pristine due to the contacting along the basal edges, the remaining edges are complete and provide an appealing geometric almost "machined" aesthetic. A significant Hematite for the find not only due to the size but the premium quality of the specimen. It is simply gorgeous in person and more reflective than most hematites, comparable to the best Swiss material.
