Triplite
Beautiful highly translucent, gem red Triplite crystal from a small find in August 2015 in Shigar Valley, Pakistan. The unusually rich color and gem quality highlight this rare phosphate specimen. The irregular edge terminations, which are complete with very minimal contacting, display a deeper red color when viewed down the edge axis. The pocket cleaved faces provide a 6 mmm thin window pane view into the crystal. While there is some internal fracturing with a few unknown black inclusions there are also several clear gem areas that can be identified throughout the crystal. A wonderful and appealing example of a gem Triplite specimen. Masses approximately 13 grams.
