Tucson, Arizona, USAThe Kožlí fluorite deposit in Vysočina Region, Czech Republic is an interesting occurrence, one which was reportedly mined prior to 1907 and again from 1943-1947. Two Quartz-Fluorite veins are known but the Fluorite is usually massive, only rarely forming nice crystals. This small cabinet specimen from Arvid Pasto's comprehensive Fluorite collection displays the rarer colour and crystal form of the Fluorite. The display surface is well-covered in rounded pale grey Fluorite crystals reaching 7 mm across. Careful inspection of these crystals shows that they have a complex form, cubic, but with significant pyramidal faces, resulting in some excellent examples of the cube+dodecahedron form. An understated, but wonderfully crystallized Fluorite from this unusual Eastern European locality.
