This jewel-like azurite crystal is from the "electric blue" pocket zone of around 2012-13, which produced some of the most intense and strong blue azurites the world has yet seen. It has the shape, the color, the luster, and that special "electric blue" shimmer in the surface skin, caused by the deposition of a thin layer of azurite atop malachite. Special style, and even though Milpillas produced so many thousands of specimens, this is among the most desirable. For a sharp small miniature, this is a "jewel"! Wayne Thompson was one of the main importers/sources at the time, and this is one that he kept for his miniatures collection. Laszlo Kupi photo.
