A dramatic miniature specimen from the heyday of Milpillas finds from about 2010-2015, featuring vivid blue azurites, perched on contrasting malachite. Superb balance highlights the blue on green contrasts. The azurite is 2.6 cm across, complete, doubly-terminated, and super sharp, making this a very refined piece in the size class already but there is more: the azurite is balanced, as if perched, on crystals of malachite after azurite from a preceding generation of growth. So this combo is even more rarefied and elegant in our experience as the azurites from here often grow on primary malachite, not on the pseudomorph crystals of malachite after azurite.
