Osarizawaite with Linarite
Osarizawaite is a rare lead-aluminum-copper sulphate hydroxide of the Alunite Group and although the Osarizawa Mine in Japan is the type locality, some of the best examples of the species come from the Silver Hill Mine in Arizona, where this piece originates. This colorful piece features numerous, beautiful blue, microspherules of Osarizawaite richly scattered throughout the piece with some areas having higher density than others. It is also associated with minor amounts, but very obvious, royal blue Linarite as isolated to lightly grouped microcrystals and one larger, divergent cluster of crystals measuring 6 mm across. Much of the remainder of the piece is presumably Alunit. A very good and very showy display piece for the species. Ex. Frederick Keidel, University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum and George Loud collections.
