This very classy large miniature Fluorapatite from Panasqueira mine in Portugal is a really beautiful colour: a fine violet-blue. Not only that but the Fluorapatite crystals are a great size too, reaching 2 cm across. Panasqueira mine is renowned as one of the world's most important localities for fine Fluorapatite and this beautiful aggregate demonstrates this very well. In common with most Panasqueira mine Fluorapatites, the crystals are short, somewhat squat, prisms with vertical striations and with glassy pinacoid terminations. The lovely blue colour shows slight zoning adding to its character. The main crystals sit atop small silvery Arsenopyrite crystals and associated Sphalerite. A choice Fluorapatite miniature.
