CHROMIAN Clinochlore KAMMERERITE
Unknown Owner
A particularly fine miniature of Kammererite, the intensely deep violet variety of chromium-rich Clinochlore. This beautiful and most eye-catching specimen is from the consummate locality of the Kop Krom mine in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. Very rich purple-violet crystals of Kammererite measuring up to an impressive 0.9 cm in length are aggregated over much of the display face of the Chromite-Calcite matrix. For a short time during the early 2000s, or perhaps a little earlier, there was lots of this material available at mineral shows, but it has all but disappeared and the original exposures are long since mined away. A magnificent example of a much sought favourite amongst collectors.
