Tucson, Arizona, USAThis small 'bubbly' Chalcopyrite var. Blister Copper specimen from Levant mine near St. Just, and not far from Land's End, is not going to win any prizes for beauty, but is a nice example of this unusual habit of Chalcopyrite seen in several mines across Cornwall in southwest England. Like many "Blister Coppers" it has an appearance similar to molten metal, but is entirely natural. It has a very dark surface tarnish and one crack running through the surface, but it appears to be stable. Ex Malcolm Southwood collection (no. MS 2011.252) and ex Mike Bayley collection (no. 0111.2).
