Diamond
Unknown Owner
This is a rare example of a Diamond crystal in matrix. It is from the famous Diamantina area in Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil, known for centuries as a source of fine Diamonds. The Diamond crystal is 2.5 mm across, but very clear, and great to see in the classic rusty conglomerate matrix - very different to the South African Diamonds in kimberlite. A fine matrix diamond specimen.
