Description
This miniature specimen comprises a bed of white Quartz upon which a slightly elevated layer of finely crystallized pale green Pyromorphite coats one side of the vein. The Pyromorphite crystals are quite small but sparkle brightly under illumination. Hofsgrund is in the Freiburg Region in the far south-west corner of Germany and was an important lead-zinc mining area during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
