A classic small cabinet Wulfenite from the world famous Erupción mine, Los Lamentos, Mexico. It features iconic, thick, blocky cuboid orange Wulfenite crystals with the typical gorgeous 'wet' lustre. These crystals are mostly above 1 cm on edge, but reach 1.2 cm. Sitting mostly upright on a contrasting white Calcite matrix they display extremely well and show no damage. The Erupción mine first produced Wulfenite specimens in the 1920s with collecting continuing through to the 1960s. After that, smaller quantities of smaller, but high quality specimens were recovered in discrete intervals including in 1968, 1976 and lastly during the 1980s. It is not known during which period this specimen was collected, but it is of the top end of quality for colour, crystal size and aesthetics.
