This is an incredibly rare and very rich, neon-blue display specimen of a copper we almost never see in fine quality; with impeccable provenance to 1966. These are so called "hair copper" and come from a rare locality that is now completely closed to further collecting. Quality as described by Rock Currier in his database: "Exceptional. A carpet of incredibly delicate dark blue cyanotrichite crystals with some minor dark green brochantite. The specimen was collected by Bob Bartsch on July 3, 1966. I got the specimen when I was willed his mineral collection after his death. The suite of specimens that he collected at that time is I am sure the finest group of specimens remaining from the mine, and possibly the finest ever from this small mine. MinID: 87K-GU3. RHC9172."
