Tucson, Arizona, USADatolite is reputedly much rarer in the Paterson area quarries than the nearby Prospect Park. This lovely large miniature specimen of Datolite from David Hardman's North American suite (no. 757) was probably obtained by him during the 1960s, 70s or 80s. It comprises an aggregate of extremely pale green crystals with well-defined flattened form and quite glassy surfaces upon a thin piece of dark basalt rock. A broken Quartz crystal protrudes from one end. There is some damage to a couple of crystals, but this is still a very richly crystallized small cabinet specimen from a classic American occurrence/area and the more one studies it the more it has to offer.
