Anatase on Quartz$200.00

Classic older material from Europe's premier region for Anatase crystals - Tysse, Hardangervidda West, Vestland, Norway. The name Tysse, indicates that this is an older specimen - Tysee, being the name used to refer to a large area along the Tyssevassdraga (Tysee waterway) and Tyssedalsfjella (Tysee mountains) in the western part of Hardangervidda. In the 1970s specimens were given this name to prevent other collectors finding the exact source among the alpine clefts in this area. Two terminated prismatic Smoky Quartz crystals joined together in parallel growth have noticeably large inky blue-grey bipyramidal Anatase crystals scattered upon their surface. The larger Quartz crystal is 7.7 cm in length but is missing most of one side, where it was previously attached to another crystal. The Quartz crystals are not gemmy, but the presence of well-formed Anatase crystals is very nice. A very reasonably priced example of this classic material. Ex David Hardman collection.
