Tourmaline
While justifiably famous for the wide array of rainbow colors they display, members of the tourmaline group are occasionally found without any color—Achroite tourmaline is a rare variation most often seen in unique color zoning throughout the specimen. This particular example has a unique quality to it--most of the zoning lacks color on this piece while there are a few distinct hues of pastel green and light sky blue scattered throughout. Aside from its color, the variation of crystal habits adds a subtle element of complexity. The smaller crystal spray cluster at the base of the larger crystal has an incredible clarity and luster adding to the overall aesthetics.
