This is a gorgeous, impressive aquamarine of a style I much prefer, with geometric parallel "towers" of crystals, instead of the more common single crystal with a flat top so typical of Pakistani aqua deposits. The piece is nearly pristine, and certainly looks so. It has only very minor, very shallow restoration in a few spots atop and to the left edge of the larger crystal's termination - trivial in context, and so well done by my lab that it is almost impossible to see the restoration epoxy, even with aid of a UV light. It presents a clean, glassy, dramatic look that makes it stand out, very dramatically in the hand or on a shelf. Lastly, it has a rich color, probably half again as deep a blue color as most others of the type and style. This color is saturated more than the typical median-colored aquamarine, up near the top of the possible saturation of color of a Shigar crystal. This color, combined with the glassiness, and geometry, all make this a very impactful piece, especially for price range. Prices are going up at the source. Material we bought a year and more ago, such as this, we could not replace for the same prices anymore. 281 grams (hefty, at about 0.6 pounds!).
