This style of silver consisting of nestlike growths of gracile spinel twins, is utterly classic for old finds from Pohla. Several different periods of production gave up this material, but we were told this came from an old stash dating to the 1980s, that only recently was carefully and laboriously prepared to excavate the fine silvers within from the enclosing ore matrix. It takes many many hours and a lot of patience to do so, but the result is an incredibly aesthetic mineral specimen. This piece is thick with wires, on all sides. It is, as they are, delicate to handle but also easily shipped. We were fortunate to be able to see the offering soon after the preparator, a friend of ours, had finished the work. These are the best such specimens we have seen for sale since the early 2000s when another lot came to market briefly.
