This is a stunning single translucent to transparent tourmaline from one of the most distinctive and unique tourmaline pockets found in Brazil, and memorable to this day nearly 20 years later. Around 2005, the pocket production stunned the mineral world, and pieces were quickly sold (mostly remaining today in the original collections). I sold this one at the time, and recently was able to buy it back. This crystal has an unusually deep and thick yellow zone, combined with the superb termination that these were known for. The Lemon Pocket, as it is known, has body colors that are more reminiscent of Afghanistan than Brazil. However, the glassy, sharp, machined-like termination has a definite yellow color - yellow being among the most rare of tourmaline colors. It comes with a custom lucite base. 229 grams.
