This fine large miniature specimen is like a green pine cone, or even a miniature Christmas tree. From the less well known Oumjrane mining area at Alnif in the Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco it displays the replacement, or pseudomorphism of bladed Azurite crystals with Malachite. This replacement is complete. The crystals are monoclinic in form, as sharp blades individually reaching over 2.5 cm in length, and are in superb condition. Unaltered radiating Azurite crystal sprays are documented from this mining area, but Malachite replacements after these are most ususual.
