Cinnabar on Dolomite

Three deep blood red octahedral Cinnabar crystals of a good size (to 8 mm across) sit in a small cavity upon pale cream coloured curved rhombic Dolomite crystals from the classic Chinese occurrence in Fenghuang County, Hunan Province. The Cinnabar crystals are extremely glossy, but two do have slight contact damage to their tips, hence why the price is much lower. Nevertheless, this is an excellent example of Cinnabar crystals and they display wonderfully on the contrasting pale coloured Dolomite.
