Will Heierman built the largest collection of corundums ever, most of us believe; and it was sold off over the last decade or so (starting in 2010 or so). One particularly notable suite in the collection was the material from Nepal, of which this is a very fine example of a large ruby crystal with the unique Nepalese hot pink-red color. It is large, dramatic, and complete all around. It would be hard to find a larger crystallized ruby from any locality for the price but these do not seem to command the same respect as their brethren from other countries. As a bonus, they fluoresce such a saturated and stunning hot red color, that it is hard to photograph.
