A highly unusual specimen of rhodochrosite from these high Alpine-type deposits that produce the famous gem species of Pakistan, and are definitely NOT usually known for such great specimens of Rhodo! The specimen is a composite crystal of rhodochrosite, fairly large for the location, showing neat trigon and chevron patterns (which might indicate twinning). Associated is a narrow, slender crystal of white feldspar for contrast. A really interesting and unusual Pakistani specimen!
