Description
Pyromorphite from France is well known from Les Farges in Ussels, but this is a much more uncommon locality that is actually part of the La Vidale lead mine, and is an unusual style of Pyromorphite by any worldwide standard. It is big, immediately draws the eye, and has an unusual combination of luster, color, and style. The display surface is covered with translucent, bright apple-green botryoidal from 0.7 to 2 cm across that are clustered over the entire display surface and and cascade down one side. They are rounded and mounded and have a distinct three-dimensional aspect to them. It is in very good condition with some minor bruising locally that isn't obvious due to the uniform color and the bruises really don't have any difference in color. This was probably collected in 2008 and marketed subsequently, we are told. A must have for the Pyromorphite collector!
